Jessica Baker, LAc, RH (AHG)

I began studying herbal medicine in1999 at the Dandelion Herbal Center in Kneeland, CA.  In 2001, I had the opportunity to complete a Community Herbalist Certification Program with Christopher Hobbs, LAc in Southern Oregon.  In this program, I was introduced to Traditional Chinese Medicine diagnostic techniques, theories and herbs. This was the catalyst for my study of TCM at Five Branches University in Santa Cruz, CA where I received a Masters Degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine. At 5 Branches, I studied at the first Medical Qi Gong clinic in the United States and became certified as a Medical Qi Gong Practitioner.  While pursuing my Masters Degree, I studied Medical Aromatherapy through the Pacific Institute of Aromatherapy. My knowledge and passion for Herbal Medicine and Aromatherapy are an asset to develop a comprehensive plan for my clients’ health.  I am currently in private practice at Jade Dragon Acupuncture in Arcata, CA.  I specialize in Western and Chinese Herbalism, Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture, Aromatherapy and Medical Qi Gong. I am also a certified ADS (Acu Detox Specialist) and am the co-founder of the Humboldt Veterans Acupuncture Project, providing free acupuncture treatments to those military persons with PTSD, posttraumatic stress disorder. Through my work with the Project, I hope to help stop the cycle of violence, reduce the stress of war time combat and help veterans integrate back into society.
I am an NCCAOM PDA provider and CE Provider for the California Board of Registered Nurses and teach classes around the US.
